What the Stuff is this?!?!

Hey Everybody!
Okay, so its been a while. I know. You don't have to rub it in. Well I just thought I'd just start putting up some old work from this year (mostly) and a few from a while ago. This year has been really great and eventful and I feel like my art is improving. Check it out!! :P

OH. MY. GLOB.
Its Lumpy Space Princess from my new favorite show Adventure Time!
I wanted to see what she'd look like in the real world hehe (sinister laugh)...

And from one Princess to another...This is my redesign of WONDER WOMAN!
If I ruled the universe (well the DC Universe) I would completely overhaul this character and make her
a psychedelic, hippy warrior. Trust me, it'd be awesome.

I really need to work on my possum drawings. Mine just look like rats.

Just a little sneak peek.
This is a character named Silver Star for my internship. More details on this soon.

This is an old poster design I did for the CSUF Artsweek design contest.
I didn't win. I DON"T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!!

This is another poster I submitted for the band Oh No Oh My. Well it was more
like a fan contest. I didn't win that one either. I don't know, I still think it's cool!

And on that note, I think I'll wrap this up. Thanks, as always, for checkin' it out. I'm really going to try to post more. I always say that....

Genkiman Photos Leaked!

Hey everybody, so I figured since all the details for the Dark Knight Rises are getting leaked, I might as well do it too...

When I was a kid (about 7 or so) my brother and I would draw comics of our friends. What began as a joke, led to six years of production and over 300 issues of 'Genkiman' comics! Basically, what I have done is take an old, classic 32 page Genkiman comic and redraw and recolor it. Panel for panel, word for word. Well with a few re-imagined designs and compositions. I'm in the coloring process now, but hopefully I'll have the final ready to go by the end of the summer.  I'm looking forward to showing you all! I will post the the entire comic when I finish.

Genkiman always gets the girl.

Painted with Corel Painter and  Photoshop.
This is the line work.
As always, thanks for checking out my blog! :)

Sneak Peak!

Hey Guys! Okay so I know its been a while, but rest assured I've been working hard on a very important project. Its almost done (probably like 75%) and I have to say its probably one of my most gratifying and personal projects to date. Well here's a little sneak peak. Don't worry if you don't understand the context, all will be explained with the final project! Thanks for checking it out.

Ninjas Vs Pirates Gallery piece!

Ok, so I know its been a while....

Here is my piece for the Weaver Gallery show Ninjas Vs Pirates (or Pirates Vs Ninjas I don't remember). The Weavers located in Downtown Fullerton. I went with this kind of New Yorkeresque thing. I thought it'd be funny to see another person's perspective of the Ninja/ Pirate fight.

I call it Toho the Destroyer's Last Words...

Brushing up...

Just a little practice before I work on some other, bigger (more important) projects. So this is the initial gesture sketch. We'll see how long I take this. It's Superman saving a kid...

What Happens on a Zombie-Infested Carrier, Stays on a Zombie-Infested Carrier...

So this was a Special Studies project. Basically, Special Studies is a class dedicated to a passion project, in my case, a video game concept called the Carrier. My brother originally conceived the concept and is now developing it further. Zombies on an aircraft carrier in the 80s...GO!

Cartooning and Caricature Projects...

These are just some other projects I had over the course of last semester. Enjoy!

Why you slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler....

Hey guys! So the semester is finally over, and I got to say it was one of the best ones I can remember. Here are the final 2 projects for Digital Illustration 363. One is a self portrait and the other is an action scene (the assignment was anything that conveyed action without the blur tool or swoosh lines).

"You've got a lot of guts comin' here, after what you pulled." [feints, laughs] "How you doin', you old pirate? So good to see you"
Lando. Is. The. Man.
That's my teacher in the carbonite in place of Han Solo. That is the highest honor I can give someone.

SHAZAM!
This is Captain Marvel (ironically DC owned). Whenever 12 year old Billy Batson says SHAZAM! he  gets struck by lightning and receives the powers of the wizard Shazam and becomes a full grown man.  I really like him, he's really old school.

Thanks for checking it out! Please look around at my previous posts, and follow my blog if you can. There will definitely be more on the way. I have BIG plans for this summer...:)

Sketchbook Highlights!

Hey Everybody! Another semester down, another sketchbook filled up.
Here are just a few of my favorite little sketches from different classes.
Quick portraits.

Lighting study, character designs, and thumbnails. Lots and lots of thumbnails.

Caricatures! I love doing them! The top left are classmates.

Class of the Titans!

So this is my design for the new Cal State Fullerton "Moodle" contest. Basically a Moodle, or LMS  (Learning Management System), is what Blackboard is. haha if you don't know, Blackboard is the school's online class management system (I know its kinda complicated).  They're going to phase it out so CSUF asked for new names and logo designs for the new LMS. This was just for fun, but I did submit it.

Just a little something extra....

I just thought I'd share this too. This is the original, rough gesture sketch I did in Painter that eventually became the final piece. When I work in Painter, I always start pretty much like this.

The Fall of Metropolis...

So this is the final version of my project. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. This was done all with Corel Painter 11 and Photoshop CS5. And yes, that guy was trying to shoot Lois Lane with a bazooka...

Don't mess with a guy who can shoot lasers out of his face...

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out my blog, this is my first post ever! So this is a in progress piece for digital painting. Basically we have to paint an action scene....so naturally I think SUPERMAN! Still not done...a couple more hours should do it. Stay tuned for the final!
